In over a decade of federal service I have prided myself on looking for ways to be innovative each and every day. This application is no different. For many years the process has been the same:
- Fill out application and answer KSAs
- Upload Transcripts and supporting documentation
- Write cover letter
- Fill out lengthy and unreadable resume with forced keywords.
- Sit around and wait.
In reality, the application process is a great representation of the changes that the National Weather Service are currently undergoing. We are transitioning from an analog past to a digital future, one in which the way we package and deliver data to our core partners and the public matters.
Hopefully, this application is a little different as I introduce you to myself in a more user friendly and visually appealing environment. Have a look around, and feel free to ask questions!
A good place to start is with the short film on leadership that I produced last year. It’s a good primer on the things in my life that have gotten me to this point and the views and philosophies on leadership that I will bring with me going forward.
After that, the rest is self explanatory, as it should be.
