NWS Organizational Culture Team – NOAA National Rotational Assignment Program (NRAP)
- Part of a field culture team investigating and improving NWS culture issues through the NWS Office of Operational Excellence (OOE).
- Working on implementation of NWS wide culture program with intention of helping offices improve culture and increase inclusiveness within the work environment.

- Selected as a mentee for the 2019 NWS mentorship program.

- Selected as Chair of the board (2018 and 2019)

Eastern Region Leadership Development Program Continuing Activities (CLASS)
- Serving on team to develop an ERLDP/CLASS leadership newsletter and blog.
- Currently serving as CLASS mentor.
- Participated in Meyers-Briggs Seminar at WFO Raleigh (September 2015)
Eastern Region Leadership Development Program (Completed 2012)
- Three phase leadership development plan.
- Worked under the mentorship of Ron Morales (WCM: WFO Charleston, SC).
- Phase I involved Meyers-Briggs self-evaluation and feedback from co-workers.
- Phase II involved completing various leadership tasks in 4 arenas.
- Arena A: Leadership; Read a leadership book and wrote a white paper; Completed the “Effective Mentoring” LMS course.
- Arena B: Outreach; Activities included editing and producing the office newsletter, giving office tours, participated in staging a booth at local functions, school talks, mentoring NC State meteorology students and Skywarn spotter talks.
- Arena C: Science; Authored an article for publication entitled “Roll Vortices in the Typhoon Boundary Layer” in the American Geophysical Union’s Journal of Geophysical Research. Also gave presentation on orographic cirrus research at AMS Conference on Satellite Meteorology in Annapolis, MD.
- Arena D: Management of Local Office Program; Led the re-design of the office intranet with input from the staff. A few hundred man hours was put into the development of the site. Managed site after launch, which is ongoing.

University of Hawai’i at Manoa Graduate Student Organization (May 2007 – May 2008)
- Elected Vice President of all graduate students at UH Manoa.
- Served on Athletics Advisory Board.
- Created student involvement committee that helped organize an orientation for incoming graduate students that facilitated adjusting to living in Hawaii.
- Served on a campus center renovation committee which helped plan a $40 million student fitness center and renovation of existing campus center.
National Center for Atmospheric Research’s second annual Youth Leadership Workshop
- Selected as Participant (June 2002).
- One week long workshop aimed at developing leadership skills in students.
- Attended several leadership lectures and activities at NCAR in Boulder, CO.
